Situations were playing out in a less than ideal way. Vulnerable backpackers with little to no direction except for my spurts of intuitive guidance, throwing us in the most counterintuitive path to righteousness. long story short, our plans disintegrated, allowing for an opportunity to be recognized by a cool brazilian fella who just so happened to notice us as the lost-looking backpackers from earlier in the day. he directed us to go see this band play an incredible set in auckland.

"I am an excitable person who only understands life lyrically, musically, in whom feelings are much stronger as reason. I am so thirsty for the marvelous that only the marvelous has power over me. Anything I can not transform into something marvelous, I let go. Reality doesn’t impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another."

it used to be that comfort was indispensable and one did not have to think about the source of warm water or other things that constitute the comfort coated sensory experience. the shift in perspective that comes as a result of becoming aware of the things you take for granted is perhaps one of the most significant experiences that one could have. One experiences comforts with a new sense of appreciation that causes a deeper level of satisfaction and intimacy with the rapturous experience of being alive.
